In the design of the “photovoltaic + energy storage” system construction scheme studied, photovoltaic power generation system and energy storage system cooperate with each other to complete grid-connected power generation.
This study builds a 50 MW “PV + energy storage” power generation system based on PVsyst software. A detailed design scheme of the system architecture and energy storage capacity is proposed, which is applied to the design and optimization of the electrochemical energy storage system of photovoltaic power station.
When estimating the cost of the “photovoltaic + energy storage” system in this project, since the construction of the power station is based on the original site of the existing thermal power unit, it is necessary to consider the impact of depreciation, site, labor, tax and other relevant parameters on the actual cost.
Pumped storage is proposed for stand-alone photovoltaic systems. The system's size, simulation, and optimization are carried out. A genetic algorithm is used for the system's techno-economic optimization. The performance of the optimal case under zero LPSP is examined. The effectiveness of the proposed model and methodology is examined.
The results show that the 50 MW “PV + energy storage” system can achieve 24-h stable operation even when the sunshine changes significantly or the demand peaks, maintain the balance of power supply of the grid, and save a total of 1121310.388 tons of CO2 emissions during the life cycle of the system.
The electrochemical energy storage system uses lithium batteries with high cost performance, which can simultaneously play two key roles in balancing the energy input system and the adjustment of the system output power, and is a key link in the stable operation of the “photovoltaic + energy storage” power station (see Fig. 2).
